Today it offers a mature and upscale vibe walking distance to downtowns shops, restaurants and galleries. Hollywood stars, including Frank Sinatra, Dinah Shore, Cary Grant, Este Lauder, Marylin Monroe and Tony Curtis, once called The Movie Colony home.
The Movie Colony is renowned for Spanish-Colonial and modernist homes complemented by thick palm trees and mountain vistas. It is also known for hip, vintage-glam hotels and cozy restaurants. Popular green spaces include Ruth Hardy Park, with tennis courts, jogging trails, and picnic areas, and Wellness Park, which has an outdoor gym and meditation garden.
